Top of Mind

Over 12,000 Prince Georgians demonstrated support for Ashley’s plan to ensure access to a quality education in every corner of the county.

Issues surrounding education intersect with and mimic many community issues and drive Ashley’s desire to lead. As your At-Large City Council representative, Ashley will be better able to:

  • increase awareness and make action accessible in every ward on the issues impacting Seat Pleasant. This includes increasing transparency and providing opportunities for residents to help us improve and protect our Charter.

  • advocate for improved management and governance of our City’s affairs. This includes fighting for Seat Pleasant’s public service workers to have the support and resources needed to feel valued and equipped to provide all wards with high-quality public services they deserve.

  • address developer concerns to attract positive development that meets the needs of residents. This includes exploring current tax benefits distribution, fiscal and permit incentives, and strategic collaborations connecting business needs to workforce development plans.

Though not an exhaustive list, see below to learn about Ashley’s beliefs that fuel and shape her approach to tackling issues that matter to you the most.

Prepared

All residents deserve to be prepared for work and life through meaningful and ongoing learning and development of academic, social, life, and workforce skills.

Year 1: Establishing ward committees to lead literacy efforts, such as installing Little Free Libraries in every ward.

Ongoing: Collaborating with businesses, community partners, local leaders, and colleges & universities to increase resident confidence, competence, and pathways to placement.

Ashley is committed to every resident reaching their full potential.

Protected

All residents deserve to be safe—to include food, financial, physical, mental, spiritual, and housing security.

Year 1: Supporting law enforcement, concerned community leaders, and elected officials with identifying existing effective, data-driven efforts that meet the needs of residents.

Ongoing: Seeking out additional agencies, providers, partners and neighbors to ensure frequent access to robust and diverse programming, and accessible resources.

Ashley is committed to connecting residents to holistic services and supports.

Proud

All residents deserve to love where they live—evident through seeing, engaging in, and benefiting from the progress towards equitable community prosperity and greater sense of belonging.

Year 1: Support staple community programming, advocate for modernized community technology, and prioritize inviting and connected environments.

Ongoing: Leveraging concepts like resident net promoter scores and supporting “for residents by residents” initiatives to gauge and respond to resident satisfaction regarding city services, community connection, and other key indicators.

Ashley is committed to an improved day-to-day experience and developing spaces that all residents want to enjoy with friends and family.

Whatever it is, the leader you choose can make all the difference.
